The hike to Ancashmarka and the Huacan Huayq’o Canyon is a route that blends history, nature, and Andean landscapes on the outskirts of the Sacred Valley. Located in the province of Calca, Ancashmarka was an important pre-Inka and Inka settlement linked to the ancient Antisuyo road, where stone enclosures and terraces built upon the mountain can still be observed today. Its name can be translated as “Blue Town” or “Town of the Eagle.”
During the trek, we will also explore the Huacan Huayq’o Canyon, a stunning area surrounded by mountains and ravines that preserves the tranquility and beauty of ancient Andean trails.
