Who are we?

Here I explain everything to you.

At Rupha Trek, we believe that walking can transform the way we relate to ourselves, to others, and to nature.

For over a decade, we have guided individuals and groups on walking journeys through the natural and sacred landscapes of Cusco—specifically within the provinces of Cusco, Calca, Urubamba, and Quispicanchi. Each trek is an invitation to step away from the daily grind, listen to your body again, breathe deeply, and make space for whatever needs to be felt.

We walk through mountains, forests, lagoons, waterfalls, and rivers that form part of the living memory of the Andes. These are places that inspire silence, awe, and connection—spaces where many find clarity, rest, strength, or a fresh perspective on their own life paths.

We work with small groups to provide personal, respectful guidance, carefully attending to the pace and experience of every participant. We incorporate nature-connection practices and ceremonies of gratitude to Pachamama, honoring the earth, water, and mountains as part of a living, conscious relationship with our surroundings.

We welcome people of all ages and stages of life: solo hikers, couples, families, women, children, teenagers, and seniors. While every experience is unique, they all share something essential: the opportunity to feel more present, more connected, and more alive.

“We walk to reconnect with nature, with our emotions, and with the wisdom of the Andes.”

Our achievements

Since late 2024, we have incorporated educational outdoor hikes into our emotional education workshops. Additionally, starting in January 2026, we have been running the "Productive Nature Holidays" program—a complementary educational experience designed specifically for children and adolescents.

At Rupha Trek, we hike to discover landscapes, but also to connect with the things that often remain unspoken within us. Because sometimes, a mountain trail can remind us of who we are, what we feel, and what truly matters.

Lena Chávez Cuentas

Fundadora

"A trekker and lover of the paths of beautiful Cusco. Since childhood, she learned to appreciate the ancient bridle paths through the vision, passion, and deep knowledge of her father, Arturo—a fellow Cusqueño walker who shared with her his love for Andean routes, the mountains, and the wisdom of nature." Over time, walking also became a way to heal and reconnect with herself. In her contact with nature, she discovered spaces of calm and contemplation: learning to meditate in silence, feeling the gusts of wind on her face, the warmth and shifting shades of the sun, walking barefoot on the earth, and listening to the water, the birds, and the wind.

Walking also allowed her to face her own fears. Step by step, she learned to overcome the insecurity brought on by heights and certain mountain trails, discovering an inner strength that stays with her today, both on the paths and in life.

The sensitivity and love for life inherited from her mother, Sonia, strengthened in her a more human and spiritual way of guiding others along the trails. Every trek is understood as an experience of deep connection with Pachamama, the Apus, and living nature.

Today, she shares mindful walks and experiences in the natural and sacred spaces of Cusco, guiding individuals, families, and small groups on journeys where walking also means breathing, listening, feeling, and reconnecting with inner peace.

"The paths taught me that nature is not just something to contemplate: it also embraces us, transforms us, and reminds us of who we are."
