Itinerary:
We will depart from Cusco at 6:30 AM toward the historic district of Chinchero, driving into the high-altitude communities along the scenic route of the Piuray Lagoon. Our private transportation will drop us off at the trailhead of the Inka Trail, an elevated point where we will share a local breakfast and enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Koricocha Lagoon.
At 8:30 AM, just before formally entering the Qhapaq Ñan, we will perform an Andean permission ritual using coca leaves to ask the Apus for protection and to harmonize our walk. From this point, we will begin our descent along a spectacular stone-paved path seamlessly integrated with ancient Inka walls and massive rock formations. Along the way, with a bit of luck, it is possible to spot local wildlife such as Andean deer and tarucas, while enjoying breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley from strategic natural lookouts.
We will arrive at the Huchuy Qosqo archaeological complex for a detailed guided tour of its palaces, plazas, and agricultural terraces, followed by free time for contemplation where we will share a light snack. Finally, our private transportation will pick us up directly from the accessible area of the community to begin our return journey to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:00 PM.
